Fantastic source on Hibernate

If you're looking for a source on Hibernate that dives much deeper than the online tutorials but at the same time can also be used as a reference, look no further than this book. I've probably read about a third of the text (skipping around chapters and looking at the areas I am particularly interested in), and I've learned quite a few new things that I had incorrect assumptions about. The only negative I can think of is that this title is high dollar. If you're just trying to get up and running for a toy project, you can probably skip this purchase and refer to the plethora of online tutorials. However, if you want to get past the tip of the iceberg and build a deep understanding of Hibernate and all of its nuances, this book will serve you extremely well.

I use hibernate heavily at work . This book answered quite a few advanced questions related to persistence context , transaction isolation and mappings.

#GriffFIX complete

Finally we get to learn Griff's history, why he's so closed off, a man of few words.... let me just say you wont be disappointed. I stumbled into Griff's story & was instantly sucked in, nothing else held my attention ALL day. What a ride!! Nina has done it again with this story, finally allowing us to see just a smidgen of who Griff is, introducing us to another amazingly strong lead female with a past of her own. Let's not forget the rest of the Storm men & the ever increasing troubles the MC has, things are heating up majorly there, so much that I can't wait to read what comes next for Storm MC.

'Illusive' is book 6 in the "Storm MC" series, I highly recommend you read this series in order, just because you HAVE to, you want each couples story & the full impact of the storyline. Bring on the next book in the series, I LOVE the magic Nina has weaved into this story, you feel as if your inside, a part of the story, instead of just looking into their lives.

Griff and Sophia's story was wonderful !!! Awesome series

This is Griff's story. He like others of Storm MC carries a deep secret and it rears it's ugly head on a certain day of the year. Madison is having a huge Christmas party and Griff knows he is expected to show up but he just can't do it. One day while sitting having a drink he meets a woman. This woman it turns out lives across from his Aunt. Griff is taken with Sophia and just has to see her. Storm is tryiing to find out who the member is against the club. Once they find out they let the Sydney chapter president King know. The guys are trying to get everything back to some normalcy after Marcus was removed. Scott has a lot to deal with but he knows deep down they will get through it.

I really enjoyed this book since Griff had become a favorite of mine from previous books in the series. I recommend you start with book 1 in this series but I do recommend if you love Romance with a little darkness and Oh so hot Alpha Males grab your copies and get reading.

Gah! Griff's story was hot, engaging, and heartfelt!!

One of the best things about Nina Levine’s writing is that no matter how much you think you know about a character, there are still many more surprises waiting for you. I’ve known for several books now that Griff had secrets that he guarded closely, but I was thrown for a loop when his real story came to light. Griff turned out to be far more complex than I imagined, keeping me captivated as Nina Levine unraveled this man. Sophia is the kind of character you just have to care about, her warm and forgiving personality the ideal counterbalance to Griff’s illusive and distant nature. Illusive is another fantastic book in the Storm MC Series, continuing the unpredictable and chaotic journey of the club and reminding us of all the couples we’ve fallen in love with along the way.

Griff and Sophia have a unique dynamic, unlike any of the previous couples in the series. Opposites in many ways, they proved to be two sides of the same coin. I enjoyed experiencing their personal growth as they helped free each other from the baggage of their pasts. Both have histories that must be faced and they certainly give each other the necessary push to move on and go forward. Although he didn’t speak much, Griff’s beautiful and sweet words made me swoon, while Sophia’s incessant babble kept me grinning. Together, these two were incredibly entertaining. Nina Levine wrote a sizzling chemistry between this couple that had them pushing their personal boundaries and relinquishing control to one another. Griff and Sophia’s relentless flirting, delicious dirty talk, and steam-inducing moments balanced their undeniably intense emotional connection, making their relationship feel genuine and whole.

As always, Nina Levine is driving me crazy with the overarching club storyline. Just when I finally get some answers, she hits me with something new that leaves me desperate for the next book in the series. The club dynamics are just so addictive that I can’t seem to ever get enough. I devoured Illusive, desperate to see where things were headed after Slay. Illusive was well paced, demonstrating equal parts intense, gripping club business and passionate, emotional relationship issues. I loved the cameos of characters from Nina’s spinoff series as well as the return of all my favorite Storm men. Nina Levine really captured the feeling of family with this book, not just within Storm, but with Griff, Sophia, Josie, and Magan as well. Illusive was hot, engaging, and emotionally raw, proving yet again how well Nina can dish out a biker book boyfriend! Bring on Command!

A-10s have flown around 11 per cent of Operation Inherent Resolve sorties (striking IS targets in Iraq) since combat operations began in August 2014.

Jean-François Nauroy is research engineer at IFP Energies nouvelles (since 1977) in the field of soil and rocks mechanics. He is a geophysicist engineer from IFP School and holds a PhD in soil mechanics from the Paris VI University (Pierre et Marie Curie).

Jean-François Nauroy’s new book balances the basics, some hard math and decent narrative across drilling and production monitori

Oil IT Journal (oilit.com) reported on the expanding use of geomechanics across a range of upstream activities in our December 2008 editorial. We were very interested then to receive a review copy of Jean-François Nauroy’s new book* to see if the new bases were covered.
Chapter one, ‘elements of rock mechanics,’ takes up about a third of the book, offering a reasonable balance between fairly hairy math and explanatory narrative in what appears to be an exhaustive presentation of the basics. Logging, leak-off test analysis core measurements are treated in a clear if introductory manner (the book includes 15 pages of references for those after more.) A section on modeling offers more advanced math, but no discussion of algorithms or software.
Chapter two, ‘drilling and production’ discusses drillability, wellbore stability, sand production and hydraulic fracturing with again a good balance of narrative and math. Narrative is pitched at a level suitable for execs or engineers from other disciplines who wish to bone up on geomechanics. As for the level of the math, that depends on what you did at school (this reviewer dropped out of math shortly after div grad and curl dropped in).
Chapter three, ‘geomechanics and the reservoir’ focuses on geocellular modeling and fluid flow simulators. Here there is more focus on applications with some illustrations of what appears to be a pet theme—that of coupling of geomechanical effects and production—causing ‘constants’ like permeability to change over time.
Environmental aspects are treated with illustrations of decametric subsidence in California’s San Joachim valley (caused by farming not oil and gas production) and less spectacular subsidence on Groningen and Ekofisk (which are due to oil and gas). Well abandonment, CO2 sequestration, and reservoir monitoring techniques are mentioned briefly in the final few pages. Geomechanics provides a good introduction to the basics along with broad brush coverage of applications in this increasingly important field. More from Editions Technip.

Ferris J. Ritchey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He has been teaching undergraduate and graduate statistics courses for over 20 years.  He has published in leading journals in the field including the Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Medical Care, and the American Journal of Public Health, and has consulted and/or served on panels with the center for Disease Control, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the National Institutes of Mental Health.  Professor Ritchey was the School of Social Sciences recipient of the 1995 President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at University of Alabama.

Terrible.

Not a good textbook at all. We used this for our graduate-level Statistics class and it was just confusing, boring and ineffective (the book, not the class). I found myself using google more than this book for definitions and explanations. Don't get this unless you are absolutely forced to.

A Required book for class

As a required book it is adequate for my class. I don't like only have a few problem set answers in the appendix. Part of learning for me is quizzing myself and checking my answers. I did like the web-site with overviews and a quiz for each chapter. My book did not come with the SPSS CD, thankfully my school provided a licensed download for us. I was ready to send this book back to Amazon because it was missing the CD. The book arrived with the binding twisted out of shape. Whoever packed it, used a box that was too small and a thin sheet of bubble wrap on top. The book did arrive as expected in 2 days.

Overall the book is only adequate for my needs of the class. I am most disappointed with the packing and shipping condition. I may not order anymore books from Amazon because of it.

Not a Bad Book Considering the Subject

First off I am not a fan of statistics. This is my 2nd time taking a Stats class ( I took one at community college and this time at university). The 1st time at the community college level the book was awful, it confused the instructor and the students ( I purchased it on Amazon and I believe I reviewed it). This book is tenfold better then that one. Being an elementary statistics textbook this author tries to breakdown things in the simplest form. The examples are easy to follow, just have to dedicate the time read and follow examples.

The best book for any person who wants to understand how American Courts work! At times we all ask questions like "How can this criminal get off on technicalities if it is obvious that he/she committed crime?", or "How can this be fair?" or "How can a lawyer defend this "bad guy/girl"? This is totally wrong! He/she is a criminal!" The author explains the difference between law and common sense, law and ethics, understanding of crime in legal terms and in laymen words.The book closely examines the logical reasoning of the law professionals , demonstrating the "tricks" used in court rooms. Fascinating reading!!! WARNING: the book will not prepare you to go to court and defend your case! This is not a "how-to" manual for folks who are planning to go to court. Hire a lawyer if need be.
However, if you want to learn how to present and defend your point (any point, not just legal issues) as an intelligent and convincing person, this book is for you! Chances are, by the time you are done with debating your next case, your opponents will at least respect your opinion (or hate your guts, which still might give you some satisfaction).
This book is for anyone who wants to boost up their skills in logical persuasion, finding loopholes in opponent's logical reasoning.
Lots of interesting and valuable information for a pretty small price! It is written in a short and clear format: each chapter discusses specific idea, giving examples from court cases and average daily life (parent-child, husband-wife, employee-supervisor), concluding with a practical application summary argument vs. counterargument. So, no reason to read the entire book from beginning to end. One can just pick any chapter and read about how this or that legal (logical) rule can be applied in daily life.

Trachtman is very good at communicating premises and thoughts that are "known but not obvious", if that makes sense. As someone who has struggled with engaging an argument, this book has helped me understand which premises and statements should be picked apart and questioned. Makes it much easier to go into a conflict knowing that I'm not going to have to start out as the doormat. Thanks Mr. T.

Did you ever wonder how lawyers think and how they structure their arguments? This book explains it all. It is an easy read, clear and concise. Great for anyone who loves to argue. A valuable tool not only for those entering the legal profession. I would recommend this to all managers (and really the general public) so they understand the nature of contracts (which we all enter into daily) and can (perhaps) better manage legal counsel. I am now giving it to my kids to read (perhaps not the best idea for me, but I expect it will help them in life).
